Capcom’s June 25 Capcom Spotlight 2026 presentation laid out concrete release timelines and new content updates for multiple major Capcom franchises. The showcase headlined a confirmed October 9 launch for Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, a September release for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and immediate new DLC for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, with both paid and free content launching the same day as the presentation Capcom Spotlight 2026 highlights.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection Launches Paid and Free DLC Same Day as Showcase
The paid Additional Side Story: Rudy DLC brings back Navirou, the fan-favorite Royal Felyne companion from the first two Monster Hunter Stories games, as an ancestor to the current protagonist Rudy Capcom Spotlight 2026 highlights. The narrative places the two characters face-to-face across a 200-year timeline. The DLC adds Nergigante, the iconic Elder Dragon flagship from Monster Hunter: World, as a non-tamable boss encounter. It is available as a standalone purchase or as part of the game’s Deluxe Edition and Premium Deluxe bundles.
An accompanying free update adds Royal Monsters: specifically, harder variants of the game’s final boss and invasive creatures that populate the open world after the boss is defeated. This content is available for players with completed save files.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Expansion Confirmed for October 9 Launch
The headline reveal of the showcase was Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, a full expansion and bundle package launching October 9 for PS5. This launch falls two years after the base game’s initial release. Capcom confirmed pre-orders open immediately in most regions, with a global rollout in early July.
Pre-order bonuses include the Norgan Fashion Set – Northern Attire for both the standalone expansion and full bundle. Pre-orders of the full bundle also grant immediate access to the base Dragon’s Dogma 2 game. Director Kento Kinoshita, who directed the original Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, confirmed the expansion adds a new frigid northern region called Norgan.
The expansion’s narrative focuses on a Fallen Dragon with a missing heart and a mysterious pursuer named Eir. It also includes 12 new unique dungeons called Lost Rites that drop rare legacy equipment, new character customization options, and a returning Relic Expedition Cycle that lets players gather relics to craft stronger gear. For example, the 12 Lost Rites dungeons are distributed across the Norgan region, each dropping unique legacy gear tied to the expansion’s northern setting.
A second free base game update is scheduled for late August. It adds requested quality-of-life changes including additional save slots, an increase to weapon skill slots from four to six, and performance improvements.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword Slashes onto PS5 This September
Capcom also shared a new enemy reveal for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the first new entry in the samurai action series in 20 years. It is set to launch on PS5 this September.
Director Satoru Nihei debuted Dohatsu-ten, a new Genma boss enemy that combines high speed and strength Capcom Spotlight 2026 highlights. Its bloodthirsty sword grows more powerful as it is stained with protagonist Miyamoto Musashi’s blood, and it gains additional power by absorbing souls.
A free demo for the game is available now on PlayStation Store. It lets players sample the title’s dark fantasy Edo-period Kyoto setting and signature swordplay ahead of launch.
Bottom line: Players with completed Monster Hunter Stories 3 save files can access the free Royal Monsters update immediately at no cost.
