Two new mutated enemy types debut. The Wretch is a nimble attacker that can overwhelm weaker fighters and slip past counter-attacks, while the Crusher soaks heavy damage and keeps fighting, so squads must wear it down before it recovers, the announcement says. Players also unlock all 300 ranks of security clearance and new rank titles.
SEAF platoons now drop in via dropships to fight alongside squads, offering stim-based medical support and a morale boost when players salute, shake hands, or hug them, per the same post. Sony frames the push as a chance to avenge losses from the Battle for Super Earth.
A time-limited community challenge runs through August 18: if players collectively eliminate 500 million enemies, four Helldiver PlayStation avatars unlock, the PlayStation Blog states. Separately, a Helldivers 2 Super Merch store is live in select regions for players who want physical gear.
