Kinetic Publishing, the publishing label created by the studio behind the hit co-op horror game Phasmophobia, has revealed the first five titles it will bring to PlayStation 5, with release windows stretching from spring 2027 through autumn 2028 Kinetic Publishing Showcase recap. The debut showcase marks the first slate from a label founded in January 2026 by Kinetic Games founder Daniel Knight.
The label exists because Phasmophobia became a phenomenon: the game has sold more than 27 million copies, according to the PlayStation showcase recap Kinetic Publishing Showcase recap. That success funded an in-house publishing arm meant to give small teams the support Knight says he lacked while building Phasmophobia.
The five announced games span very different genres. Contact Protocol, a sci-fi starship “job simulator” about judging whether incoming ships are friend or foe, is set for spring 2027 Kinetic Publishing Showcase recap. Crescent County, a sun-soaked witch-tech island adventure described as Kiki’s Delivery Service meets Akira, follows in summer 2027. Shellbound, a metroidvania built around a giant snail and parasitic possession powers, lands in summer 2028. Aether Wizard Life, a cozy wizard life sim from Vonder Games mixing farming, dating, and dungeon combat, arrives in autumn 2028. Precognition, a sci-fi FMV horror from Immortality and Her Story creator Sam Barlow with director Brandon Cronenberg, closes the slate in spring 2028.
Every announced title is confirmed for PS5, the console PlayStation markets as its current-generation standard PlayStation 5. Phasmophobia, the game whose sales funded the new label, is already playable on that hardware Phasmophobia on PlayStation.
For players tracking the indie scene, the slate is a notable bet by a horror studio on variety: a snail metroidvania and a dating-friendly wizard sim sit beside prestige FMV horror, all detailed in the showcase recap Kinetic Publishing Showcase recap.
